River Rat Resort, one of the top RV parks in the Lake Livingston Texas area, is a newly constructed, 20-acre waterfront, family-oriented campground on the north side of Lake Livingston where the lake and the Trinity River meet. Conveniently located between Riverside, TX. and Trinity, TX. on State Hwy 19.

  • 20 minutes NE of Huntsville
  • 35 minutes south of Crockett
  • 45 minutes NE of Conroe
  • 45 minutes NW of Livingston
  • 1 hour SW of Lufkin
  • 1 hour 30 minutes north of Houston

The campground offers 37 full hook-up RV sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electric service at every site (see RV Site tab for more details).

There are 2 brand new waterfront site-built rental cabins with all the modern amenities and comforts of home (see Cabins tab for more details).

There are also 10 primitive tent camping sites, half of which are conveniently located on a peninsula between the river and our 2-acre private pond with the remaining positioned along the river adjacent to an adjacent oxbow.

Other onsite amenities include a washateria with coin operated machines, bathhouse with 4 private bathroom stalls, concrete boat ramp, fishing pier on our private 2-acre pond, and much more.

Lake Livingston is a reservoir located in the East Texas Piney Woods. The lake is the third-largest lake located in the state of Texas (only the Sam Rayburn Reservoir and Toledo Bend Reservoir are larger).

The Livingston Dam, constructed across the Trinity River about 7 miles southwest of the city of Livingston is 2.5 miles in length and has an average depth of 55 feet.

Lake Livingston has a surface area of 83,000 acres and impounds 1,750,000 acre-feet of water at its normal pool elevation of 131 feet above mean sea level. The average depth of the lake is 23 feet with a maximum depth of 90 feet. Lake Livingston has more than 450 miles of shoreline extending into San Jacinto, Polk, Walker, and Trinity Counties.
